On this page we’re going to give an overview of the Cuisinart ICE-30BC vs ICE-21. We’re going to look at what both of these ice cream makers have to offer, what their features are and we’ll aim to answer the question ‘Is there a major difference?’.
What we can say about both of these ice cream makers is, if you bought either one of them, you would not regret your choice, they are both on the best seller ice cream makers list and that means the customers are loving both of these items.
They are obviously making good ice cream and they are also reasonably priced so it will be quite hard to choose which is the best Cuisinart ice cream maker out of the 2 of them.
Cuisinart ICE-30BC vs ICE-21
What is the same? :
Both the ICE-30 and the ICE-21 consist of the same number of parts making up the ice cream maker, a base that includes a heavy-duty motor, they both have a double insulated freezer bowl, which eliminates the need for ice. They both have a transparent lid with an opening in the top, for easily adding your favourite mix-ins and they both have a mixing paddle that is held in place with the lid, made of a strong plastic, which helps aerate the mixture to make ice cream in about 20 minutes.
So what’s different? :
Well to begin with, the Cuisinart ICE-30BC is a more compact design, which looks better, the bowl is inserted further into the housing, which then requires a smaller lid. The bowl sitting more into the housing helps to keep it colder longer. One of the biggest problems with making ice cream in one of these type of freezer bowl machines is starting with a cold mixture to get the best out of the cold in the bowl.
The ICE-30 is a bigger capacity than the ICE-21, it is 2 quarts as opposed to the 1.5 quarts of the Cuisinart ICE-21. You might think this is a good thing, we all would like to make lots of ice cream, but you have to make sure that you can fit a larger bowl in your freezer. The bigger capacity requires about an extra 5 minutes churning time, which we think is acceptable for a bigger bowl of ice cream.
So who should go for the Cuisinart Pure Indulgence Ice 30
If you have the freezer space to deal with the larger bowl, then anyone who doesn’t mind paying a bit more to make more ice cream would love the Cuisinart ICE-30BC. It’s great for larger families or even if you would just like to make larger batches so you don’t have to make ice cream as often. It looks more expensive and it would probably match other products in a kitchen better if you have the space to keep it on show.
So who should go for the Cuisinart ICE-21
If you are just looking for a basic ice cream maker, that makes great ice cream and isn’t too expensive then go for the ICE-21. This is an easy product to use, takes very little supervision and makes a reasonable amount of ice cream.
When we’re looking at the Cuisinart ICE-30BC vs ICE-21, and you’re trying to compare Cuisinart Ice cream makers you can be assured that both of them can make you some very good ice cream, they both have recipes in the instruction booklet to get you started. Apart from the upgraded design and the bigger capacity of the ICE-30, they are both basically the same. If you want to be able to make ice cream with your kids, it will be easy for them to help with both of these machines. The biggest decision to make is how much you want to pay, and do you want to make a bigger quantity of ice cream in one go.
